The new school year is almost here. But don’t worry—you don’t have to spend the last days of summer trying to “catch up.”

After a summer filled with play, exploration, family time, and a break from the classroom, it’s completely normal for children to need a little time to get back into the rhythm of learning.

You don’t need to review every lesson from last year or make sure they remember everything before the first day. Instead, focus on easing back into a routine, getting sleep schedules back on track, talking positively about the year ahead, and leaving room for a little reading, curiosity, and conversation.

Most importantly, let them enjoy these last moments of summer. The break was valuable, too.

When school begins, they’ll have plenty of time to learn, grow, reconnect with their classmates, and settle back into the routine.
