The event was held on April 18th at St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School. We were thrilled to welcome 91 young players competing across 3 divisions (K-1, 2-3, 4-5), showing off their focus, strategy, and sportsmanship. A big shout out goes to all the kindergarteners who were so brave to compete!
The event had an epic showdown at the corral for 1st place for the 2/3 and 4/5 division which was super exciting to watch, and the kids played like champs!
Special thanks go out to St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School for hosting, to all the families that came to support their young players, and to all of our Chess Wizard staff who worked so hard to put on this amazing event and helped create such a fun and welcoming environment.

Perseverance in chess is about more than just winning—it’s about staying focused when the game gets tough, learning from every mistake, and refusing to give up even when you’re down.
Encouraging children to keep going and keep growing is one of the most powerful traits we can nurture in them. And in chess, just like in life, progress comes from patience, practice, and persistence. One move at a time, one game at a time. ♟️

✨It was a wonderful day for chess at the Winter 2026 Tournament in Dallas, Texas. ✨
The event was held on March 7th at Lakehill Preparatory School. We were thrilled to welcome 33 young players competing across 3 divisions (K-1, 2-3, 4-5), showing off their focus, strategy, and sportsmanship.
A big rainstorm hit right as people were arriving but it didn't dampen spirits one bit. When kids weren't playing chess, they had fun coloring, playing soccer, hunting down clues for the prize scavenger hunt and eying up the spectacular trophy table. There were lots of smiles, hi-fives and life-changing enrichment for all.
Special thanks go out to Lakehill Prep for hosting. To all the families that came to support their young players. And to all of our Chess Wizard staff: Saylor, Alex, Justin, Alexandra, Ben and Marshall, who worked so hard to put on this amazing event and helped create such a fun and welcoming environment. ♟
