From Chicago to China! Our middle school students and alumni have returned from an incredible two week journey to China for the 2026 American Youth Future Digital Ambassador Innovation Camp!
From July 4-17, our students immersed themselves in Chinese language, culture, history, and technology. While in Harbin, they were welcomed by Heilongjiang University and Harbin No. 47 Middle School, where they explored the many ways AI is shaping learning, history, engineering, gaming, and beyond.
Their learning continued through hands-on experiences in Chinese painting, calligraphy, robotics, and history, while daily interactions gave them countless opportunities to practice and strengthen their Chinese language skills.
And, of course, there was plenty of exploring! Students visited Harbin’s Central Street, the Terracotta Warriors, the Xi’an City Wall, and the Muslim Quarter, experiencing firsthand the incredible history and diversity of China.
We are incredibly grateful to Heilongjiang University and Harbin No. 47 Middle School for welcoming our students and creating such a meaningful international learning experience!
This is what a global education looks like: learning beyond the classroom, building connections across cultures, and giving students the opportunity to see themselves as citizens of the world!
