I truly believe it is so important to implement play activities in your kindergarten classroom and that our kindergarten students learn best through play.

Social Skills — Play fosters cooperative learning , and conflict resolution among classmates. Students learn to ask each other to play and share.

Cognitive Development — Engaging in play allow students to practice problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills. Plus there are so many academic skills that are practiced naturally such as math, phonics and writing.

Emotional Regulation — Through play, children learn to manage their emotions and develop resilience. Students learn how to handle disappointment and waiting their turn.

Physical Development — Active play promotes large and fine motor skills. One students are playing outside they’re physically moving and movement is so important for their developing brains.

I truly believe that students learn best when they are having fun and don’t realize they are learning especially in kindergarten.

these ideas are not just my opinion but rooted in research. I’m looking for a research based articles the Illinois State Department of Education, Psychology Today and NAEYC all have articles about the importance of play (just to name a few).

Here is a step by step tutorial on how to make viral banner for back to school. I started in Canva and selected 24 by 72 inch custom size.

The trickiest part is the squiggly line and it just takes some time to mess it to get to fill the edge.

Don’t forget to use your coupon code in the check out. This poster costed me less than $13 at Walgreens.

I cannot share this template but I did share step by step directions so you can make your own.

I am absolutely adore this book by Patrice | Literacy Strategist !! This is the PERFECT back to school book! It is such a sweet book and the illustrations are beautiful! It is a beautiful message that every students deserve a place to belong. I cannot wait to read this to my kindergarten students during the first week of school.
