Transform your classroom for GLOW DAY with these simple Glow Day Centers. These Glow Day Activities are designed specifically for young learners, this engaging educational resource is packed with fun, glow-in-the-dark activities that make reviewing essential kindergarten skills a magical experience.
All centers can be copied onto astrobright neon paper. They can be used year after year.
Students will review CVC words, counting, number bonds, adding, subtracting, sight words, shapes and teen numbers.

Glow day is one of my favorite days of the school year with my kindergarten students as a kindergarten teacher. It is such a fun way to celebrate and review all of the phonics skills and math skills we have learned throughout the school year. These glow centers are easy prep.
It is a great way to end our kindergarten school year. Your students will love it.

This is how I teach homophones in my kindergarten classroom.

We had a Trolls/*NSYNC themed day. The homophone lesson is based on the *NSYNC song Bye, bye, bye (by, buy & bye). So they got a quick history lesson on *NSYNC, and we talked about how they are in the new Trolls movie. (And of course, we had to learn the Bye, Bye, Bye dance).

We compared some of our sight words with their homophones. (For example: be and bee). This is in connection with our sight words “one” to help us understand the connection between “one” and “won”.

First, we did an anchor chart comparing our high frequency words vs content words. Content words are academic words that have typically have a tangible meaning.

Then the students did their own mini version of the anchor chart.

We also made hats and coloring sheets.

We of course learned the bye bye bye dance.

In my kindergarten classroom as a kindergarten teacher these are the four steps that I used to teach my students how to solve math problems.

1. We think about what function we need to use to solve the problem based on keywords in the math story problem.

2. Then we draw simple circles or use math manipulatives to solve the problem and show our work

3. We write the equation with the answer

4. We retail what the problem is asking including the answer and labels.

These are the steps in visuals that I used to teach my student students on how to solve math problems. I have a full PowerPoint of different simple in addition and subtraction problems for your students to solve. I find that the visuals help all students to be successful
