π ILACHE Graduate Student Scholarship
The Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education (ILACHE) is proud to offer two $1,000 scholarships to graduate students in Illinois who demonstrate leadership, community service, and academic excellence.

Eligibility:
β’ Must be an Illinois resident
β’ Currently enrolled full-time or starting graduate school by Fall 2026
β’ Cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00 from a regionally accredited Illinois college/university or high school GPA of at least a 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) or a 4.00 (on a 5.0 scale).
β’ Students must demonstrate leadership, which can be seen in involvement in community service or leadership positions in school clubs or extracurricular activities.

β Graduate program acceptance letter (if starting Fall 2026)
π Priority given to first-time applicants
π Must attend the ILACHE Conference to receive the award

The U.S. now ranks second globally in Spanish speakers, surpassing 57 million people, according to a 2024 report by Professor David FernΓ‘ndez. While Spanish studies rise in Europe, U.S. enrollments decline. Projections show Spanish speakers will peak at 682 million by 2066 before gradually decreasing.
