Our Library was transformed into a stunning gallery for our End of the Year Art Showcase! 🏛️✨

This event was a beautiful celebration highlighting the immense talent, dedication, and hard work that our student artists have poured into their craft all year long. From breathtaking sketches and striking digital designs to incredible multi-media displays, the sheer creativity on display left everyone completely blown away.

To all of our student artists: thank you for sharing your vision, your passion, and your stories with us this year. You make the Lake View community a much more beautiful and colorful place! 🔴⚪️

LVHS Culture Club took on Chinatown! Our students had an amazing time mastering the art of dumpling making. A huge thank you to Z.J Tong, the  Chicago Chinese Culture Institute, and Hing Kee Restaurant for hosting such a delicious, hands-on cultural experience!

🦇 WILDCATS IN THE FIELD: CONSERVATION EXPO RECAP 🐾

Our students are doing incredible work out in the community! On Wednesday, May 20th, AP Environmental Science student Alina T. stepped up to represent Lake View High School at the Lincoln Park Zoo Conservation Expo. 🦁🏫

Alina presented her impressive research project, titled "Biodiversity in Bats Affected by Noise Pollution," for the Partners in Fieldwork program. She did a phenomenal job sharing her findings and advocating for urban wildlife conservation!

🏀 LAKE VIEW BASKETBALL: OPEN GYM IS HERE! 🐾

Ready to get some runs in? Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, stay in shape, or just hoop with your friends, Lake View Basketball Open Gym is officially here for the second half of May!

Dates: May 20, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29
⏰ Time: 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM (Right after school)
📍 Location: 2nd Floor Gym

👥 Who can join? This is completely OPEN TO ALL LAKE VIEW STUDENTS! No matter your skill level, if you’re a Wildcat, you’re welcome to come out, compete, and get better.

U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets from Lake View High School, perform in the City Wide JROTC Raiders Challenge Competition, at Carver Military Academy in Chicago, May 16, 2026. The Lake View High School “Wildcat Battalion” came in 11th place overall after competing against 27 other raider teams. The cadets demonstrated a can do attitude and grit by competing in all eight events to include running one of them.

🔑 SENIOR SALUTE & A NEW CHAPTER: KEY CLUB RECAP 🐾

We are officially back and better than ever! This year, Lake View High School proudly rechartered our partnership with the Kiwanis Club, bringing together service-minded students from all grade levels to make an impact. 🌎✨

We gathered to celebrate our incredible seniors for their dedication to service this year! Though a few of our seniors missed the festivities due to a conflicting field trip, they were there with us in spirit. The Kiwanis Club truly went above and beyond to make our seniors feel special, gifting them with lunch, custom T-shirts, certificates, and even a special scholarship presentation! 🎓👕🏆

Our members were also deeply inspired by guest speaker Comptroller Holly Kim! Her background and service-oriented journey closely matched the experiences of our own students and the Kiwanis board members, leaving everyone motivated to keep changing the world. 💼❤️

Looking Ahead: Shoutout to junior Shena A, a current Key Club Officer who will be stepping up as our Club President next year! Shena Rose was there to take it all in and get inspired to lead the club to even bigger heights.

We had the absolute best time hosting our incoming rising freshmen for an Ice Cream Social! 🍨✨

Our newest Wildcats got to cool down with some sweet treats while exploring the incredible lineup of clubs, activities, and sports teams that Lake View High School has to offer. From the classrooms to the playing fields, there is truly a place for everyone to find their passion here.

It was so exciting to see the energy, smiles, and connections already starting to form. The future of Lake View is looking incredibly bright!

Thank you to everyone who came out, and a huge shoutout to our student leaders and staff for making our incoming freshmen feel right at home. We can’t wait to see you all on campus full-time soon! 🔴⚪️

💻 EOY CHROMEBOOK AUDIT: FINAL REMINDER! 🐾

Wildcats, the school year is winding down, which means it’s time to get your tech in order! This is your final reminder that the last opportunity for the Chromebook Audit is next Tuesday, May 19th.

📍 Where & When:

Cafeteria: During all Lunch Periods on Tuesday, 5/19.

Library: Any day through 5/19 for walk-ins (except Tuesdays).

🎒 What to Bring:
Make sure you have your Chromebook, Case (if applicable), Screen Protector (if applicable), and your ID.

⚠️ Why it Matters: Devices not checked by the end of the day on 5/19 will face the following:

💻 Chromebooks will be disabled.

💸 A $100 lost fee will be incurred for the device.

💸 A $20 fee will be incurred for cases not checked.

Don’t wait until the last minute! Avoid the fees and the lockout by getting your audit finished next Tuesday. Let’s head into summer break stress-free! 🔴⚪️

🏐 CITY CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND! 🐾

Our Boys Volleyball team has officially claimed the Conference Championship title! 🏆 Not only that, but they’ve secured the #11 seed out of 32 teams in the CPL City Championship!

Because we are the higher seed, Lake View is hosting the first-round match! Come out and bring the noise as our Wildcats look to keep this momentum going.

We’ve reached the 5th and final day of Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re closing out the celebration with the most important gift of all: your impact. Today, staff received individual thank-you cards filled with messages of gratitude from our students and administration.

Reading through these notes is a powerful reminder that the work you do goes far beyond the classroom. You are mentors, advocates, and the heart of this community.

You don’t just teach—you inspire.

To our incredible teachers and staff: thank you for being the “Dream Team” that makes Lake View High School so special. We hope this week showed you even a fraction of how much you are valued and respected. 🔴⚪️
