Sabin Dual Language Magnet School

🎤✍🏽 We are excited to announce that Sabin is hosting a FREE two-week Summer Poetry Camp through our partnership with the Chicago Poetry Center! Students will explore poetry, art, games, creativity, and self-expression with incredible teaching artists Musu Bangura, Maya Odim, and Ola Faleti.

📅 June 29 – July 9 (Monday–Thursday)
⏰ 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
🍎 Breakfast and lunch included daily!

✨ Group 1: Grades 3–5
✨ Group 2: Grades 6–8

Please note: Registration will be first come, first served, and space is limited, so we encourage families to sign up as soon as possible to secure their child’s spot!

At Sabin Dual Language Magnet School, Mrs. Yanira Franco (“Profe Franco”) continues to inspire bilingual learners through her beloved “Aguacatitos” philosophy 🥑💚 Recently, after presenting at the first-ever CPS Dual Language Conference, Profe Franco welcomed Dual Language teachers from Nixon School into her classroom for a collaborative peer observation focused on academic vocabulary, Total Physical Response (TPR), and cross-linguistic teaching practices. Visitors observed students actively building language skills through movement, partner discussions, cognate connections, and meaningful bilingual interactions in a classroom where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered. We are so proud of Profe Franco for continuing to grow the Dual Language “teacher toolbox” across CPS through collaboration, creativity, and culturally responsive teaching! 💙💛

En la Escuela Magnet Sabin Dual Language, la Sra. We said “bring a random balloon”… and Sabin DELIVERED 😂🎈💙💛 From princess crowns to smiley faces to numbers that made zero sense — every balloon came with love! Today we celebrated a belated Principal Appreciation Day to welcome back our amazing principal, Mr. Baker, in the most Sabin way possible… a little chaotic, a lot of fun, and full of appreciation. Thank you for always leading with love and making sure we all feel seen — we appreciate all you do for us more than you know! 💙

Dijimos “trae un globo al azar”… ¡y Sabin LO DIO TODO! 😂🎈💙💛 Desde coronas de princesa hasta caritas felices y números sin sentido — ¡cada globo venía lleno de cariño!
