my baby is here…

the first verse of this song was the first piece of it that i wrote. i remember breaking down in tears remembering those feelings. being taken advantage of, my time not being respected, and like my love was something that could be picked at until i had absolutely nothing left to give. an empty cup. it enraged me that i let those feelings transfer into my new relationships. feelings that had no bearing here in my new happy life. “residue” is an acknowledgment of those pieces of trauma that follow us through our relationships, but also a message to let them go and find peace and happiness with those who choose to respect the love you give. i truly hope you enjoy it. 🤍🕊
