Transitioning from primary to secondary school is a big change - but our PE teachers made it more fun with the sixth edition of the PE Cycle 3 Olympics.
Twenty teams of 4th, 5th and 6th graders competed in various sports and activities including basketball, track and field, ultimate frisbee, badminton and handball.
Eighth graders played a huge part by refereeing and keeping score, all while being encouraging team captains.
The day was capped off with an awards ceremony and snacks. Great job to everyone who participated! 🏀🏸 🥏

During a memorable field trip to the Dank Haus, our 8th grade German students participated in a hands-on cooking class, learning how to prepare the traditional German dish Kässpätzle.
They carefully followed the recipe from start to finish, cutting onions, making fresh Spätzle and then finally baking the dish. Everybody played a crucial role in the cooking process, and the experience provided a fun and authentic way to explore German culture and cuisine.
Best of all, the students got to enjoy their delicious creations when they were done. It was lecker! 🇩🇪

Our Kindergarteners recently joined the 1st graders for a very special lunch in the big cafeteria to help them get ready for their big move to elementary school next year!
The 1st graders took their mentorship duties seriously, sitting with their younger peers and telling them how the cafeteria works. From navigating the lunch line and balancing trays to picking out food and cleaning up, our Kindergarteners learned a lot.
It was an exciting, high-energy lunch and a wonderful milestone for our rising 1st graders. We are so proud of how much these students have grown this year! 🔥❤️

Eleventh graders channeled their emotions and brought their art skills to life! 🧠🎨
Students were tasked with translating powerful inner feelings into visual masterpieces, categorizing them as either "positives" or "negatives."
Positive emotions were explored as "fantasies,” while negative emotions were classified as "fears."
Using the bold, raw, stylistic markers of Expressionism and Abstract Expressionism, these talented artists turned the intangible into something truly unforgettable.

Our eco-delegates hosted a Bake Sale for a great cause!
Thanks to everyone's generosity, the students raised funds for the Nuevos Vecinos Association to help provide essential hygiene kits to local families in need. This initiative was entirely student-led, demonstrating incredible organization, leadership and compassion from our young change-makers.
Un grand bravo to our eco-delegates for turning a sweet afternoon into an act of community support! 🔥❤️

And the Oscar goes to... our Grade 6 theater stars! 🎭🎬
Recently, our 6th-grade students took the stage at the LFC Center for the Arts to perform an adaptation of Pierre Gripari’s classic play, "Inspecteur Toutou." Performing in front of their peers, our young actors showed incredible engagement, poise and creativity!
But the drama didn't end when the curtains closed.
Following the show, audience members cast their ballots for a series of special categories—including Best Actor, Best Costumes and Best Staging. It was a "mini Oscars" atmosphere with all the red-carpet suspense, candid reactions and big award moments you would expect from Hollywood!

A Journey Through German Culture & History! 🥨
Our Grade 6 and 7 German students stepped out of the classroom and into history at the DANK Haus German American Cultural Center!
The students explored the “Neue Deutsche Welle” exhibition, gaining a deeper understanding of life on both sides of the Berlin Wall. They discovered how music and pop culture served as a mirror to the social and political events of the era—bringing their history lessons to life through sound and story.
Of course, no cultural trip is complete without a taste of tradition! Students also discovered traditional foods from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and participated in interactive games and activities.
It was an educational and "lecker" (delicious!) day of discovery for our middle schoolers. Thank you to the DANK Haus for hosting us!

In a world full of social media and AI, helping our students tell fact from fiction is more important than ever.
We were so happy to have Clément Calais and Oskar Grądziel from the French and Polish Consulates visit us for a special talk on how to navigate today's information overload. Drawing on various real-life events and global conflicts, our students saw firsthand how information is being used (and misused) in 2026.
Students learned the difference between misinformation, disinformation and malinformation, and also got the rundown on how deepfakes, clickbait and "cherry-picking" facts can be used to manipulate what we see.
They also discussed the real danger posed by tactics used to spread conspiracy theories and even interfere with national elections, along with practicing five easy steps to verify news and information, including double-checking and cross-referencing sources.
While technology is changing faster than laws can keep up, a sharp mind is still the best defense. We are very proud of our students for asking the tough questions and learning how to be responsible digital citizens.

A symphony of inspiration at the LFC! 🎶
Our 4th and 5th-grade students had a magical experience at the LFC Center for the Arts recently. We were honored to host six visiting musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for an intimate performance and exchange. There is nothing quite like the sound of live, professional music to spark curiosity! Our students were captivated.
We are so lucky to have this world-renowned orchestra right here in our backyard, and even luckier when they bring their talents directly to our students.
Thank you to the CSO musicians for an unforgettable afternoon of music and discovery!
