📚✨ Access to education in Uganda continues to improve, but significant challenges remain for students in rural regions such as the Acholi subregion in Northern Uganda.

Many young people still face barriers to continuing beyond primary school due to financial hardship, limited school resources, and shortages of qualified teachers — challenges that disproportionately affect girls.

At ChildrenUP, we work alongside students and families by providing scholarships, mentoring, and support toward secondary education and advanced studies, helping expand access to educational opportunities for both girls and boys.

📍Data referenced from UNICEF’s Overcoming Challenges report (July 2024).

✨ About one year ago, we celebrated Ronaldo’s graduation from the Illinois Institute of Technology — an important milestone marking years of hard work, perseverance, and commitment to his education.

Today, Ronaldo continues his professional journey, working with an engineering firm in a Chicago suburb. We reflect with pride on all the dedication and determination that made this achievement possible.

Ronaldo’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact that access to education, mentorship, and opportunity can have in shaping brighter futures. 💙

We are excited to continue following his journey and celebrating all that lies ahead.

📚✨ Closing Term I, Looking Ahead to Term II ✨📚

It is hard to believe that Term I of the secondary school year has already come to an end. All of our students have returned home for a short holiday break before heading back for Term II.

Some of our candidate students—Senior 4 and Senior 6—have returned earlier to participate in holiday programs designed to strengthen their learning and help them prepare for upcoming national exams.

As students return to school, they will once again be fully engaged in their academics, along with extracurricular activities such as sports and school clubs. Our mentoring sessions will also resume, ensuring continued support for both their academic progress and overall well-being.

We wish all our students continued success throughout the 2026 school year. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their education. 💙

If you weren’t able to attend, please enjoy the video from our program and hear directly from our students in Uganda—their stories, testimonials, and poetry are truly inspiring. 🎥
