🌟 ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight: Patricia

Patricia's journey reflects how creativity, determination, and a passion for learning can inspire both personal and professional growth.

After beginning her secondary education at St. John Paul II Secondary School, Patricia completed her studies at Sacred Heart Secondary School. She later pursued a Certificate in Fashion and Design at YMCA Kampala, building the foundation for a career in the creative arts.

After completing her training, Patricia taught at a tailoring school in Gulu, sharing her skills with others. Committed to continuing her education, she later returned to YMCA Kampala, where she is currently pursuing a Diploma in Fashion and Design through self-sponsorship.

Her journey is a testament to what can be achieved when hard work, perseverance, and educational opportunity come together. We are incredibly proud of Patricia's accomplishments and grateful to celebrate her as part of our ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight Series.

🌟 ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight: Simon

Simon's journey reflects how determination and a commitment to lifelong learning can open doors to continued growth and opportunity.

After completing his ordinary level secondary education at St. Joseph's College Layibi, Simon earned a Certificate in Laboratory Technology from St. Mary's Hospital Lacor Health Training Institute. He then worked in a private clinic for two years while also helping support himself through farming.

Committed to advancing his education and professional skills, Simon returned to St. Mary's Hospital Lacor Health Training Institute in 2025, where he is currently pursuing a Diploma in Laboratory Technology.

His journey is a testament to what can be achieved when hard work, perseverance, and educational opportunity come together. We are incredibly proud of Simon's accomplishments and grateful to celebrate him as part of our ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight Series.

🌟 ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight: Olympia

Olympia's journey reflects how education can inspire leadership, entrepreneurship, and a commitment to giving back.

After completing her ordinary level secondary education at St. John Paul II Secondary School, Olympia continued her advanced level studies at Ocer Campion Jesuit College. She later earned a prestigious Mastercard Foundation Scholarship to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Education (English and Literature) at Makerere University.

Today, Olympia operates her own clothing business in Kampala. She also remains an active member of the ChildrenUP family, serving as a motivational speaker at our annual general meetings whenever possible to encourage and inspire current students.

Most recently, Olympia began supporting a student's education, choosing to give back and help create opportunities for the next generation. Her generosity beautifully reflects the ripple effect of educational opportunity.

Her journey is a testament to what can be achieved when hard work, perseverance, and educational opportunity come together. We are incredibly proud of Grace's accomplishments and grateful to celebrate her as part of our ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight Series.

Arop's journey reflects how education, perseverance, and a commitment to serving others can create opportunities to make a difference in the community.

After completing his ordinary level secondary education at St. Joseph's College Layibi, Arop earned a Certificate in Nursing from the Gulu School of Nursing and Midwifery. He began his career working in a private clinic before later joining a drug shop managed by a fellow ChildrenUP alumna.

Today, Arop is training to become a Village Health Worker, continuing his commitment to improving the health and well-being of those in his community.

Sharon's journey reflects how education can empower individuals to strengthen communities and create opportunities for others.

After beginning her secondary education at Sacred Heart Secondary School, Sharon continued her advanced-level studies at Ocer Campion Jesuit College. She later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Quantitative Economics from Gulu University, graduating in 2023.

Following graduation, Sharon completed a traineeship with ChildrenUP Uganda before beginning her professional career as a Business Trainer. Today, she is transitioning into a new role as a Market Research Officer, where she continues to support business growth and economic development within her community.

After completing his ordinary level secondary education at St. Joseph's College Layibi, Ivan earned a Certificate in Nursing from the Gulu School of Nursing and Midwifery. He began his career working in a private clinic in his village before later joining a drug store managed by a fellow ChildrenUP alumna.

Today, Ivan is engaged in farming, where he continues to work hard to support himself and his family. His journey demonstrates that education provides a strong foundation, equipping students with the knowledge, confidence, and resilience to pursue different paths as opportunities evolve.

Geoffrey's journey reflects how dedication, perseverance, and educational opportunity can lead to a meaningful career in healthcare.

After completing his ordinary level secondary education at Sir Samuel Baker Secondary School, Geoffrey continued his advanced level studies at St. Joseph's College Layibi. He later pursued Clinical Medicine at the Gulu Institute of Health Sciences, graduating in 2019.

After completing his studies, Geoffrey gained valuable experience as a Clinical Officer in South Sudan. Today, he operates his own medical shop in Awach, Gulu District, where he continues to support the healthcare needs of his community.

🌟 ChildrenUP Alumni Spotlight: Rovister

Rovister's journey reflects how determination, lifelong learning, and a commitment to serving others can lead to new opportunities and greater impact.

After completing her ordinary level secondary education at Gulu High School, Rovister earned a Certificate in Midwifery from St. Mary's Hospital Lacor Health Training Institute in 2019. She then began her career in government service, providing maternal healthcare in Northern Uganda.

Committed to advancing her education and professional skills, Rovister later earned a Diploma in Midwifery from Rubaga Hospital Training School in Kampala before continuing her career as a midwife.
