Delwin Manjali (BA, ITM 1st Year) put his analytics and leadership skills to work this summer as a Business Analytics Intern and Team Coordinator at AperioHub.

He led a seven-person team across four time zones while evaluating whether Indian edtech company Simplilearn should enter the U.S. market. His team ultimately recommended a B2B strategy focused on workplace upskilling and higher education.

The experience gave Delwin the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to a real client project while strengthening his skills in competitive analysis, problem-solving and team leadership.

We were excited to celebrate the Open House for the new Lighting, Automation, and Cybersecurity Lab, an exciting extension of Illinois Institute of Technology's Smart Tech Lab!

Generously funded by Frank Gurtz and Gurtz Electric Co., the new lab creates opportunities for students in the School of Computing’s information technology management (ITM) program to gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies and their real-world applications.

Through experiential learning in lighting, automation, cybersecurity, and smart technologies, students can strengthen the technical, managerial, and problem-solving skills needed to navigate today’s evolving technology landscape.

We’re grateful to Professors Jeremy Hajek and Dan Tomal for initiating and coordinating the new lab and display rooms, and to Frank Gurtz for his generous support of innovation and experiential learning at Illinois Tech.

A special thank you to ComEd for providing an informative display highlighting how nuclear power contributes to Illinois’ electricity supply.
