Dear Colleagues
Now is the time to consider joining the AOF Advisory Board, many members of the current Advisory Board are coming to the end of their service as their students are in their senior year at Spruce Creek. This natural transition provides an opportunity for new parents to come forward and participate in this rewarding role. The attached flyer provides an overview of the role of the Advisory Board and the commitment required by Advisory Board Members.
Here is an extract from the attached flyer that outlines the importance of the role.
“Join Our Advisory Board! Every academy needs a full complement of advisors in order to provide its students a robust, enriching academy experience. SCHS-AOF advisory board consists of parents, academy alumni, business owners & community leaders. These individuals together support the academy in many ways including classroom speakers, job shadowing venues, fundraising assistance for scholarships, and paid internships for all eligible academy students.”
Best Regards

Its that time of year!
SCHS's Academy of Finance is beginning the annual process of securing internships for our current Sophomores & Juniors.
You may have projects at your business that you’ve been procrastinating. There might be things that need to get done around your office but you just can’t spend the manhours. Here’s your perfect solution!!
Interns can do just about anything. They can scan and file, make and take phone calls, organize and plan events. You might be surprised at the abilities, talents and dedication of our Academy students. Internships usually run throughout the summer. The Academy of Finance requests at least 75 hours but the internship could last as long as you need the service - some have even been hired as permanent employees. Although this is not the goal of the internship, it is something we are very proud of.
Quick notes:
· Internship Fair will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 3:30-5:00 at Spruce Creek High School
· Students are pre-screened and interview-ready for prospective employers
· Compensation can be in various forms of payment, scholarship, or in-kind payment
The attached flyer and this link to the website will provide more of an explanation about the program.

Thank you for your consideration of this great program. Please share this email and information with your local business associates in the case that they may benefit from this project and give a student an opportunity of growth & experience.
