The Center for Research Libraries was honored to welcome Heather Joseph, Executive Director of the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), as its 2025 Annual Meeting keynote speaker, whose presentation, "Sustaining Access to Knowledge in a Challenging Political Landscape," centered on the urgent need for resilience and strategic action in the face of political and institutional turmoil and the immense challenges facing libraries, higher education, and the research community.

Jacob Nadal closed out the meeting β€” his first at the CRL helm since joining the Center in November 2024 β€” with a Presidential Address that touched on themes including viewing CRL as a joint venture with its members, the importance of preservation and cultural stewardship, CRL's values and strategic direction, and empowerment through members' collective strength.
