Meet Rev. Dr. Marcus D. Cosby, class of ’91.

Rev. Dr. Cosby is the Senior Pastor of the historic Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, a role he has held since 2004, where he leads a congregation of over 18,000 members.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and English from , a Master of Divinity in Homiletics and Christian Education at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Doctor of Ministry in Homiletics from in Lisle, Illinois.

Before becoming Sr. Pastor, he served as Asso. Pastor beginning in 1998 and has since continued the legacy of through impactful initiatives including the Wheeler Avenue Christian Academy, transitional housing for single mothers, and global outreach efforts.

In 2008, Dr. Cosby was inducted into the Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers at in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2013, he became the Founder and CEO of Preaching with Power and Authority Ministries, a corporation committed to the pedagogy and promotion of relevant biblical preaching for the 21st century.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Fisk as Chair of the Academic Excellence and Student Engagement Committee, and is a member of , Sigma Pi Phi, as well as a Life Member of the .

Class of ’01’s Cyn Jemison, Executive Director of , is launching a new initiative providing complimentary placements into major Chicago walking and running events for underrepresented communities who may not otherwise have access to participate.

Through the Hillman Starting Line Community Race Access Initiative, participants receive:

The hopes and dreams of our tomorrow link us together…

The independent feature film Montmartre, a World Premiere Official Selection & Best First Feature Narrative nominee at the Pan African Film & Arts Festival was written and directed by class of ’05’s Leon Hendrix III (), produced by and featuring class of ’96’s Maurice “Reese” Hendrix (), and edited by Class of ’96’s Ismail Salahuddin ().

The film follows Jo () who travels to Paris searching for change and unexpectedly connects with tour guide Toussaint (Jesse Williams), who helps her rediscover love, creativity, and herself.

A true Dolphin family affair 🧡💙
