Canto Latino is back! đź‘Ź

We are so excited to celebrate the city’s proud Latin American heritage through song, story and dance at our biannual festival. This year, our theme “Salsa en mi barrio” will breathe new life into iconic salsa music. We will be exploring the historical significance and teaching the building blocks of salsa music with songs from Cuba to New York and Puerto Rico to Venezuela. Join us in celebration with our after-school programs, a live salsa band, dance and community!

Is your singer navigating their changing voice? Uniting Voices offers an ensemble called Dimension to guide these singers through the vocal transition while learning to sing a diverse repertoire with musicality, movement and expression!

Next week, we are hosting two Discovery Days for families interested in learning more about Dimension, our unique ensemble for singers approximately age 12 and up who are beginning the vocal transition into emerging tenor, baritone and bass voices.

We are honoring Chicago icon Chance The Rapper for his groundbreaking artistry, profound community impact and longstanding creative partnership. We are also celebrating the 70th anniversary season of Uniting Voices, and 70 years of empowering the next generation of leaders.

The night will feature performances by the globally renowned Voice of Chicago and special guests including Uniting Voices alumni. Meet Taylor Edwards, the choreographer behind our new “Speed of Light” video!

We were so excited to reunite with Taylor on this project after first collaborating with her on Chance The Rapper’s “Chi-Town Christmas” in 2020. Taylor is a choreographer and dancer based in Chicago who has collaborated with acclaimed artists like Missy Elliott and Ginuwine. She is currently the Associate Artistic Director & Company Member at Hiplet Ballerinas (Hiplet_Ballerinas).
