And have been teaching since about 1990.

Whoever wants to hear a bassoon solo -a bassoon concerto- please come to my/our concert at Trinity Christian University in Palos Heights this Sunday at 4.  I will perform Andante and Hungarian Rondo among many other pieces on the concert. Details on the flyer.

This just makes me smile and laugh. I believe our orchestra (the Southwest Symphony) this year is doing the original Bugler’s Holiday and sure, it’s great and flashy with trumpets, but with bassoons and Contra, well it’s just a very special joyful experience. If you happen to be in the doldrums now, you’re welcome.

The Seattle Symphony bassoon section recorded this in 2020 in the midst of Covid taking over the world at the time, and no one knew what to do yet, therefore the need for Bugler’s holiday on bassoons.

You won’t regret going to the free Grant Park Symphony concerts all summer until mid August every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening. Down in Millennium Park.

So enriching and so encouraging to see thousands of people come out for classical music.  and did I mention it’s FREE?!

Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30, Saturdays at 7:30, usually in Pritzker Pavilion.
