Thank you to Mr. Balsano, the Garden Club, and all the other students who helped make Burr Beautiful! And take a peek in the front yard at our new Japanese garden with a serene Jizō statue, donated in part with a grant from the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chicago (JCCC), which FOB matched. 💜💛

As part of AAPI Celebrations this month, the K-4th graders attended an assembly this morning with Ajanta Chakraborty,co-founder of Bollywood & Culture Groove and author of the Maya & Neel’s India Adventure children’s book series. The assembly was an interactive dance & storytelling workshop of the Holi Festival in India and the stories behind it. As part of our after school programming at Burr, the Burr Bollywood dance students performed on stage!

Last Friday the 5-8th graders attended an assembly with the Philippines Consulate visiting Burr.

Field day at Burr is a mix of activities on the field, parking lot and playground as well as some indoor activities. Students will travel as a classroom to stations throughout the day. Be sure to dress your student in their grade color as it makes it easier for them to stay as a group. Stay tuned in your teacher’s weekly communication for their Field Day schedule and more! Parents are welcome to drop by and check out the outside activities!

*In case of severe weather, Field Day will be moved to May 26th.
