The Center for Literacy hosted the Summer Reading Kickoff with generous support from Christopher Mueller, Chicago Fire player, at the Back of the Yards Library. More than 70 families and 176 individuals were inspired by Chris’ passion for literacy, in addition to enjoying story time, giveaways, and soccer fun! Thanks to the collaboration from Be The Best, Chicago Public Library, and U.N.I.O.N., Cook County Commissioner Alma E. Anaya and De Colores Ice Cream & Coffee Shop in making this possible.
