Ok, so those last few weeks at were bittersweet. Now that we’re recovered, let’s talk Crafter-School. A while back we started gathering contacts for other small businesses who wanted to create the kind of community we have, and build a prosperous business to boot. We thought we had the bandwidth to do both (lead this business while helping others) but…(you guessed it) Covid. We chose to put a Crafter-School Collective on hold rather than abandon families at the weirdest moment of all recent time. So, here’s the scoop: if you own a small service business, want to own a small service business or know someone who has or wants a small service business for kids, we want to help you/them get there—quickly and sustainably, playfully and profitably. We are VERY excited to share with you that we’ve partnered up with our friends at to share space and offer our program at 3701 N Ravenswood. Strange times can bring out the worst or being out the best. We’re pretty sure you and your kids are going to really love this. We know we do. So we’ll be saying goodbye to Damen St after summer camp and saying hello to YOU in this sun-filled, spacious environment that encourages and supports curiosity and movement (in all seasons!) Keep your eye out for the wonderful things this new opportunity brings for all of us. Why did we create Wishcraft Workshop® in 2008? We knew there was a better way to provide arts education and we started to build it, from scratch. We were clear in our values, our vision and our mission and we wasted no time in opening the doors to that funny little building on Roscoe Street. Innovative. Independent. Driven. Readily award-winning and ready to be of service.

We wanted better for our own kids and for yours. We wanted to protect children from creative scars--those critical moments, easily overlooked, that change the trajectory of a child's innate creative confidence and, and to prepare them for whatever future they choose. Even more, we wanted to teach them to do this for themselves. We knew that simultaneously "teaching" art, STEM and social-emotional skills was the way to do it.

We knew from experience that when we lead with our ego, progress stalls. When we lead with our creativity and curiosity, and let our ego be the fuel to make it happen, anything is possible.

We value creativity, humor, observation, innovation, gratitude, kindness, inclusion, teamwork, enthusiasm, respect, resourcefulness, contribution, conservation, fun, collaboration, activism and positivity.
