With Google purchasing a half billion dollar facility in downtown Chicago and so many of the tech companies locating here, God has placed on my heart to continue training young men and women in our community to take advantage of these opportunities and build better lives, better families, and better communities.
The pandemic forced us to cancel our classes because we couldn't meet in our classroom.
CITC-Chicago IS COMING BACK & WE ARE COMING BACK BIG!
I will be introducing the course for the New CompTIA Industry Certification that is the gateway into the IT Industry for great paying IT careers!
I am currently pulling the course together and should have it complete and ready to teach in a couple of weeks.
This is how a little church on the south side of Chicago is transforming the way community residents think of church!

So we are already getting requests to bring back the community IT training classes. We haven’t held classes since the pandemic. I am updating the tech courses.

FYI — To everyone contacting us for the upcoming Spring IT training session, THE CLASS IS COMPLETELY FULL WITH AN OVERFLOW WAIT LIST.
We are now populating a wait list for the following training session. People on this wait list will get the first opportunity for the limited seats in the next class.

Today we were informed that Darrick Taylor, one of our instructors, mentors, and part of the CITC Technical Leadership Team passed away. He lost a long hard fought battle with cancer.
Darrick got his start in IT by taking the A+ class at CITC-CHICAGO and obtaining his certification. He then took the CCNA class and obtained this certification. Darrick went on to do great things in IT. He started a company, The Community Techs, and a west side based Non Profit , TechOne GrowOne. All while continuing to train, mentor, and support at CITC-Chicago.
Darrick had a heart for the community and yearned to see all people lifted!
Rest Well Darrick, you are already missed.

So today is the last day of classes for this session of IT classes at the training center.
We only had two students complete this session. They both have job offers before the class even finished!
I kinda know how Harriet Tubman felt when she said she could have freed 1000 more slaves if only they knew that they were slave.
We could have gotten a lot more trained and employment ready if...

These guys did VPN 101 today. They configured VPN on the laptops that they will take home and access their class workstations to provide remote support from home. They verified it and its ready.

We started the fall IT class today. We have a small class this time but they are extremely motivated.

On Saturday, October 6th at 10:00 AM, we will have the final registration for the fall session. Classes will start the following Saturday and admission for this session will be closed.

Registration for Fall training session is August 11 at 10:00 AM. 7816 South Ashland Ave.. we are excited about this upcoming registration and with all of the successes that we have experience with the recent classes we are looking forward to training another group of IT specialists, IT technicians, and IT career professionals at CITC.
