St. Pius V School

Our summer program students enjoyed some fun and learning at Shedd Aquarium this week!

Last week, a group of our St. Pius V middle schoolers took the trip of a lifetime!

After months of hard work and preparation—including special enrichment sessions focused on science, leadership, and service—our students traveled to Staddle Camp at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming.

Completely unplugged from phones and the online world, our students spent the week connecting with nature, trying new activities, and building friendships with peers from across the Big Shoulders Fund network.

We are so proud of their adventurous spirits and their willingness to step outside their comfort zones.

Thank you to Big Shoulders Fund and the generous friends who make this experience possible for our students every summer. And a big hug of gratitude to Mr. Brazell, our middle school science teacher, for accompanying and guiding our students this year!

We are halfway through our summer program and giving thanks for a wonderful group of students, staff, and volunteers! We give a special shoutout to our rising 7th and 8th-graders who are busy doing the test prep course but also taking time to help guide our little ones.

CDOT has completed their traffic safety study for South Ashland Avenue, and they will be joining the Alderman’s office tonight to present the new traffic safety plan. This plan directly affects the safety of our children, our school families, and everyone in our community.

There’s nothing like kids and water on a hot summer day!

Our summer program students beat the heat and had a great time doing it today with an inflatable water slide on the playlot.

We hope everyone is keeping safe and staying cool in spite of the elevated temperatures!

It’s safe to say that soccer fever has gripped our summer program at St. Pius this month. With Mexico facing off against Ecuador tonight, we had both teams represented in school today!
