At Pilgrim, we educate the whole child — encouraging academic excellence, cultivating a heart for service, and nurturing the unique gifts and talents God has given each student.

Today, we celebrated the many ways our students have grown, achieved, and served throughout the school year.

Congratulations to Ada B., recipient of the Judy Kiehm Award, presented to the graduate who earned the highest cumulative points in academics, service, and athletics during her time at Pilgrim. We know you’ll continue to excel at jonescollegeprep next year, Ada! 💛

We also applaud Keri Cavanaugh as our Volunteer of the Year. From serving as our lower grade librarian to chaperoning the recent 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., Keri has generously shared her time, talents, and heart with our school community. Thank you, Keri! 💙

🇦🇷 Pilgrim Airlines took off for Argentina this week, as part of a special Spanish class cultural learning experience!

Our Preschool–4th graders explored the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, learned about the history of tango, climbed high into Salta in the Andes Mountains, met a Magellanic penguin in Patagonia, and shopped for souvenirs at the mercado. 🐧💃⛰️🛍️

The experience was made even more special thanks to our 5th–8th graders, who stepped into the roles of guides, flight attendants, artists, vendors, and more to help bring Argentina to life for our younger students.

A huge thank-you to Spanish teacher Mr. Yearick for creating such a fun and engaging hands-on learning opportunity, and to all of the parent volunteers who made sure everyone had un buen viaje! ✈️

Pausing today to remember the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. 🇺🇸♥️

The third and fourth graders finished reading Pie this week! So, they celebrated with pie tasting, book awards, and lots of sweet memories 🥧📚

From thoughtful discussions to favorite characters and plenty of laughs, this was the perfect way to celebrate finishing a class novel together!

We are so proud of all the reading, thinking, and growing our students did throughout this story 🤍

A BIG thank you to our amazing Principal for the Day, Elliott B.! 👏 From leading the morning announcements to hosting the end-of-day popsicle party 🍭☀️, she kept smiles on faces all day long!

We also want to give a huge shoutout to our Teacher Assistants for the Day — Rosie D., Greta W., and Theo D. 📚 Thank you for all your hard work helping in the classrooms, and making the day extra special!

Our youngest students enjoyed a special morning at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, discovering new instruments, and experiencing the joy of live music! 🎶
