At the beginning of the pandemic, I started the project Save Local Businesses to put a spotlight on other small business in West Town. Two years later, we revisited them to catch up, and get an update on how Covid has changed their business and lives in the past two years.

"I never thought I would be teaching clients online or going outside of my studio to teach privately so a lot of the business dynamic has shifted as I do both of these things now!

Covid has taught me to be much more flexible and creative with my ideas as well as an extraordinary amount of patience.

Truthfully, business is really great! I feel so incredibly lucky for how things have turned out and I am definitely ready to make another shift in the growth of my business!

My business has turned into a true representation of myself and my ability to stay present and flexible and grow and be independent while keeping myself working on high levels of patience and gratitude!

I am still just as excited about my business as I was before and during Covid… I started it right before the beginning of the pandemic and the true family essence of being in this neighborhood has made me feel is beyond measure. I choose not to invest in fear because I do think that it inhibits growth. It’s very challenging not to let fear creep in but if it does I meet it with excitement for the opportunity to try something different and new and welcome shifts and changes to naturally occur as they show themselves.”

As things continue to shape and bend to the circumstances, I contemplate the arrival of the full moon today as it comments on the full Moon six months ago. Which was when everything shut down and life as we once knew it dramatically changed. Perhaps we thought it would be momentary. But it has turned out to be much different and much longer... with many more things woven in forcing changes to happen. Many that needed to and we are still finding things that need to. Change. This month celebrates one year since I arrived in Chicago and I am still observing how many changes that have occurred over the past year. Within myself and outside of myself. To celebrate the place I am in and the success and achievement I feel externally grateful for, I am going to add something special to any 10 and 20 private (in-studio) packages purchased during the month. A lot of things have changed in the last six months. Like my usage of hand sanitizer and Lysol. And my IG feed vastly improved due to photos like this one by the rockstar photog !! But the consistency and desire to better oneself and achieve optimal health and fitness is STRONG. I can’t believe it is already July. This time last year moving to Chicago and opening my own studio was an actuality I had yet to realize. And even though so many challenges have occurred since then… I wouldn’t trade one moment of it for anything. ❤️

When I was in college at the University of Oregon I joined the crew team. Now while in theory that sounds like I would be one amongst many extremely fit hard-working and dedicated people. And that was completely true although if you want to know which spot in the boat I occupied… It was right in the front attempting to strategically organize and motivate all of the muscle that sat in the back. Little did I know just how fitting that coxswain spot would be for me. Some people aren’t surprised knowing that I was the bossy one and some people are wishing I would forget that I am the bossy one. I’m just over here counting down the days till I can get back to having someone else on this reformer!! 📷 by the beauty that shines and sparkles ❤️❤️

Sundays are for air plant care! I have about 25 of these precious things hanging from my ceiling and I constantly get questions about them. Are they alive? What are those? They are beautiful ceiling ornaments and they are alive! They don’t need soil to grow and they DO need to be watered! Does anyone else have an air plant in their home?!❤️🌿☀️💧📷 by the lovely

I am super lucky that I have the space to do my favorite fitness medium… But I am desperately missing teaching my amazing clients right now!! ❤️😭 Honestly I knew I loved this neighborhood before I even moved into this space just six short months ago.... but the outpouring of support that surrounds this area (and me) truly moves me. 📷 by the beautiful, talented and amazing !!
