I was just thinking: "man, this time last years CPS teachers were strike. 365 days later, CPS is minus 47 more schools that effect 12,700 students...we're witnessing a historic shift in education. I wonder if there is a layer of the US History onion about this?" Of course there is!! But I can't give you all the good stuff on day two. You'll have to come to class to find our more.
In the mean time, here are images of the first day of school in the "new look" Chicago. To get the total extra credit points you must follow the directions below:
First Day of School Extra Credit - (100 points, due September 5 by 11:59pm)

Social Movements - Extra Credit (30 points):
For this unit, there will be extra credit for every Social Movement. To earn the total points (sorry, no partial credit) you MUST follow the directions.
1) read the article or watch the video about the movement
2) Comment on the article or video answering: "Why is this article important to the Social Movements: Remix unit?"
3) Comments must contain a quote from the article. Comments with no quote get no credit.
4) if multiple comments use the same quote, the comment which used it first will be the only one to get credit
