In a world of chaos and the stigma that has been put on our educational system, to this day I choose to continue to keep my scholars engaged in my classroom. I listened to a video where a parent believes that we should go ahead and rap up this school year. I listened to her entire video and she never got to the “WHY?”. However, to hear a parent talk about the experience she encountered this school year, does not reflect all of our experiences. I say this to say, these photos were taken this week of one of my 7th grade classes still working hard and diligently. Yes it’s a struggle some days, and yes some days we are engaged with no distractions, but LEARNING IS STILL TAKING PLACE.
I still believe READING is fundamental it will never get old.

It is my conviction that the emphasis should be on teaching students critical thinking skills, rather than dictating what they should think. All introduced material should serve a specific purpose, allowing students to grasp its application in future educational pursuits. It builds better students.

Instead of jumping straight to whole-class feedback after a task, let’s try changing the feedback order:
- Let students check their answers with a partner first (Pair Check),
- Then discuss in small groups (Group Check) before hearing from you.

I am happy to announce that I have been working hard to grow my business as an Educational Consultant and as a private tutor. I have had the opportunity to work with clients in person as well as online. My dedication and passion has made what I do exciting and it keeps me motivated to support other educators both here in Chicago as well as school districts outside of Illinois.
This client review is extra special because I have worked with this school district twice. They called me back and now they have contracted with me for the rest of the school year and next year. I am truly humbled.

My best teaching
happens when I put the relationship before the curriculum.

Although I don't fully agree with this statement, I concur that student-teacher relationships are crucial as they establish a bond that can have a lasting impact on a child's future. Nonetheless, the most significant determinant of student learning outcomes is the quality of instruction, rather than personal affinity with a teacher.
