Student Spotlight: Our 7th Grader Mariyah had the opportunity to join the National Coalition of 100 Women, along with 16 other young ladies, for Legislative Day at the Capitol in Springfield, Illinois this week. She was able to help advocate for four important bills focused on voting rights, health, education, and economic support for our communities. Mariyah was also able to meet many of the local Illinois House of Representatives members and senators during the visit. This experience provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the legislative process and the power of civic engagement.
