What a remarkable week!

We had the opportunity to meet and connect with representatives of the Greek government, sharing our vision of bringing language, history, and culture together.

The week culminated in a full house event at the Union League Club of Chicago, where the story legacy of Ioannis Capodistrias traveled from Corfu to Chicago.

The presentation of the museum kit, the inspiring talk by the Museum Director Ms. Maya Charalampopoulou and the moving readings of Capodistrias’ letters created a meaningful experience for all.

A special touch was added by the conversation between Professor Zoe Gavriilidou and Antonis Miriagos.

We warmly thank the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago the Μουσείο Καποδίστρια - Capodistrias Museum, Enosis Federation Illinois and all partners who embraced this vision and helped us bring history closer to students and the next generation.

The journey has just begun.
The museum kit will now travel to schools across Illinois, continuing to inspire.

Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά και υπερηφάνεια συμμετέχουμε ενεργά στον σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση αυτής της ξεχωριστής πρωτοβουλίας, που φέρνει την ιστορία του Ιωάννη Καποδίστρια, από την Κέρκυρα στο Σικάγο.

Σε συνεργασία με το Γενικό Προξενείο της Ελλάδας στο Σικάγο, το Μουσείο Καποδίστρια/ Κέντρο Καποδιστριακών Μελετών και την Ομοσπονδία Ελληνοαμερικανικών Οργανώσεων - Η Ένωσις, η μουσειοσκευή ταξιδεύει για πρώτη φορά στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, με στόχο να φέρει την ιστορία πιο κοντά στους μαθητές και στα ομογενειακά σχολεία.

In collaboration with the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago, the Capodistrias Museum/ Center of Capodistrian Studies and the Federation of Hellenic American Organizations - Enosis , the story of Ioannis Capodistrias travels to the United States for the first time, with the goal of bringing history closer to students and Greek-American schools.

Καποδίστριας: Η ιστορία ζωντανεύει | Από την Κέρκυρα στο Σικάγο 🇬🇷🇺🇸

Το Γενικό Προξενείο, σε συνεργασία με το Μουσείο Καποδίστρια, την Ομοσπονδία Ελληνοαμερικανικών Σωματείων Illinois «Ένωσις», το Greek Lessons for All και το Pickwick Theater, έχει τη χαρά να παρουσιάσει τη μουσειοσκευή αφιερωμένη στη ζωή και το έργο του πρώτου Κυβερνήτη της Ελλάδας, Ιωάννη Καποδίστρια.

Η μουσειοσκευή, που παρουσιάζεται για πρώτη φορά στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, θα ταξιδέψει μετά την εκδήλωση στις αίθουσες των ομογενειακών σχολείων, φέρνοντας την ιστορία πιο κοντά στη νέα γενιά.

Θα ακολουθήσει συζήτηση με τον πρωταγωνιστή της ταινίας «Καποδίστριας», Αντώνη Μυριαγκό.

Guilty or Not Guilty?

Last night we attended “The Trial of Odysseus” organized by the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago. After hearing the arguments, the jury’s verdict was not guilty.

But the real takeaway goes far beyond the verdict. Thousands of years later, a hero from Greek mythology can still fill a theater and spark debate about power, family, morality, and duty.

This is the lasting imprint of Greek civilization—stories and ideas that continue to challenge and inspire us.

And at the heart of it all is the Greek language, the vessel that has carried these questions and conversations across centuries.

Proud and honored to contribute, in our own way, to keeping this language alive for the next generations.

Today we had the honor of attending the event “Keeping Greek Alive Abroad – Why It Matters” and it was truly inspiring.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Zoe Gavriilidou for her dedication, vision, and tireless efforts in supporting and strengthening Greek education here in Chicago. Initiatives like this remind us how important it is to preserve our language, culture, and identity for future generations.

At Greek Lessons 4 All, we proudly stand by this mission. We are committed to supporting and promoting the learning of the Greek language and empowering students of all ages to stay connected to their roots and heritage.

Together, we keep Greek alive. 🇬🇷
