Hello Manley Students and Parents,
As we continue to learn about and navigate through the challenges of Remote Learning, there are a few best practices that we will need to follow as we continue in Remote Learning.
STUDENTS: You are strongly encouraged to fully engage the Remote Learning space by:
* Being on time for each class and remaining in the class until the class ends (sign on when class starts and sign off when class ends);
* Actively participating in each class verbally (unmuting your mic and politely speaking when called upon), visually (enabling your we**am so you can be seen and the teachers can be clear you are understanding the content), and in writing (typing class appropriate responses in the chat box);
* Muting your mic, when you are not called upon to speak, improves the quality of the audio part of Remote Learning; and
* Using appropriate avatars or pictures to express yourself via Remote Learning (images should not be offensive or suggestive).
PARENTS: Thank you for allowing your child to use a space in your home to engage Remote Learning and for encouraging your child to actively participate everyday in Remote Learning. We thank you for your support and your engagement. As it relates to your continued engagement, we ask that you respect the Remote Learning space as you would respect the in-person classroom pre-Covid 19.
If you have a question or concern about your child's learning or class content and you need to speak with the teacher, you are not to interrupt the teacher or the class at that moment. You can have your child, in the chat, to inform the teacher that you would like to request a meeting. You can also email the teacher and request a meeting. Please understand that Remote Learning classroom disruptions interfere with the learning process and can lead to a further misunderstanding of the class content by your child and other students. Again, Remote Learning is challenging for both your child and the teachers and we are committed to supporting your child and the teachers towards a better experience with Remote Learning.
