What a rare gift it is to feel soft and sparkly these days ✨🌸 Not fully sure what these words mean to me, but maybe they will mean something to you.
Soft in her demeanor, hard in her force.
Her superpower is the duality;
The paradox, of course.
To be sweet, yet not submissive;
To be straight-forward but not dismissive
Of the softness at the core,
Of what the work is all really for.
Thank goodness for the sparkle that womxn bring;
for, without them, we wouldn’t have much of anything 🌳

Part 1 of 2: My time back in BK the past few weeks ended up being a major rainbow (literally, see the last pic) in a sky of darkness that is so many folx’ reality right now. It was a time filled with so much beautiful and restful solitude, deep work, self-discipline, active receiving and letting go, as well as community gatherings and the makings of new musical friendships; the perfect recipe for getting into a flow state and letting those divine creative forces work their way through me. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on with (and for) my community online and offline 🤭 Here’s to fully embracing the joyful periods of life even when it feels dangerous, and especially when it seems like the world doesn’t want you to experience that pleasure and connection 🥂🫖 It truly feels like an act of rebellion, ya know?
Updated promo video! My EP “This Blue Woman” will be available to stream and purchase on April 11, 2025 🎤🎶 If you like Neo-soul, soul-pop, and folky jazz music, you might like what I’m cooking up 👩🍳

January was a lot of things, but I will say that my experience of January was made a whole lot better because I got to celebrate one of my best friends getting married to her best friend 💍🌸 it honestly seems like intentional celebration of love is such a radical thing these days, so I’m really glad I got to be a part of such a beautiful week, with so many new friends made along the way. Congratulations and on a kickass wedding in paradise 🏝️

Something blue coming your way soon 💙
A super fun and improvisatory moment in this cover of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac at Pier 290 with 🎶 Fun fact, this was the first time I’ve ever sat in on this tune! I’ve only worked on this song with my students, I’ve never actually sung it before 🎤
🥁: Michael Whalen
🎸: Anthony Calderisi
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of embracing the new year with Whalen and Tony at their residency at Pier 290 in Lake Geneva, WI. I had a great time! Thank you both for the invitation, and to for getting us connected 🎶☺️ Here is a little bit of “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King

Hi friends, time for an update. The past month has challenged me, personally and professionally, in ways that are difficult to describe. At the same time, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of strength and accomplishment. Sometimes all it takes is a little push or obstacle from the universe to remind you that you’re here to pay attention to and make magic from the space between the space, whether in your thoughts, artistic improvisation, or simply in the pause of a conversation. That you’re here to take up space and be the fullest expression of yourself, so you can give back to that space and honor its presence. And perhaps most importantly, you are here to recognize that you are a true badass and need a healthy and supportive soil to root yourself in, so you can work smarter, not harder, and blossom into your fullest badass self! I would love to turn this metaphor into a dialogue about regenerative agriculture but I’ll have to save that for my TED talk 🤓
So, here’s how this push from the universe has played out in my life: due to some personal life changes, I now am setting up shop in Chicago, Illinois! I will so deeply miss my life, work, and friends (especially friends!!) in Ithaca, NY. I know I will visit at some point again this year for some shows and outstanding collaborations. For now, I will be taking up space in Chicago to run my three music businesses (!!) with the intention of moving back to the NYC area (with perhaps a layover in Nashville??) someday in the future, when the time is right 🙃
So friends, please connect me with your Chicago-based music, theatre, and arts people/opportunities. I am also accepting new virtual and in-person students in voice, piano, music theory, and songwriting at LAS Voice Studio in the Chicago area, too!
And one more important thing: my EP release date has been bumped to April and for good reason! Life changes = more music to create, record, and share 🙃🎶
Stay tuned for lots of fun projects, meaningful content and storytelling, and puppy pictures as 2025 rolls on 🥳
