The Illinois General Assembly passed the FY27 state budget, including increased funding for CCAP and Early Intervention and continued support for critical early childhood programs and workforce investments. Lawmakers also advanced key policies to strengthen supports for families, providers, and educators across Illinois.

These wins happened because advocates, parents, and providers spoke up, but the work is not done. Illinois’ early childhood system still needs deeper, sustained investment, and We, the Village will keep fighting for the resources children, families, educators, and providers need to thrive.

Thank you for advocating this legislative session! Read WTV’s full statement here (link also in bio): www.wethevillageil.org/statements/

ILRA REPOST: 5/27/26 - Join the Illinois Revenue Alliance (ILRA) Day of Action on Wednesday, May 27, in Springfield, IL, from 10 AM - 3 PM. Rally to be held in the Capitol Rotunda at 12 PM.

TAKE ONLINE ACTION HERE:
Illinois’ tax system is outdated and increasingly misaligned with today’s economy.

As costs rise and federal funding becomes less reliable, Illinois must protect essential services without placing additional burdens on working families or small businesses.

The good news is that we can still do something about it. We can raise $4 billion by taxing large corporations and billionaires, which would provide the funds we need to prevent the cuts and fund these services.
