Last year, we paired attorneys up with individual students to communicate via email/phone or meet in person to discuss their assigned role in the trial. The students talked about the issues in their case and developed their theory of the case which helped with trial strategy. We plan to continue assigning mentors again this year. We are looking for 8 to 10 attorneys willing to assist with the one on one mentoring. Please email Kelly Coakley at [email protected] or call me at 312-388-9201 if you are interested in volunteering this year.

We are also hoping to allow students to shadow an attorney or judge for the day. If you would be willing to allow a student to shadow, please also contact Kelly Coakley.

Any assistance you provide will be immensely appreciated. Please consider giving back if you can find time in your busy schedule.

The problem and materials for the trial are attached and updates are released by the ISBA. It can be found on the Illinois
State Bar Association's website under the tab public /teachers /mocktrial

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me! 312-388-9201 or one of the coaches at 773-881-6500.
