Check out this spotlight from The News-Herald on our Golden Apple Scholars in Michigan!
Emma Cannon and Madeline Kujansuu are two of our inaugural Michigan Scholars. Both Emma and Madeline embody the passion we need in classrooms: Emma's teaching inspiration comes from her family, while Madeline's 8th-grade teacher sparked her love for education.
Our Golden Apple Scholars Program in Michigan is addressing the teacher shortage by:
- Supporting 36 aspiring educators in our first cohort
- Offering up to $15,000 in financial aid
- Providing mentorship, classroom experience, and job placement support
All Scholars commit to earning bachelor's degrees in education from a Michigan university, obtaining Michigan teaching licenses, and teaching for five years in a Michigan school of need within seven years of graduation.
Special thanks to The News-Herald for featuring this story and highlighting the importance of nurturing the next generation of Michigan educators. We're proud to invest in bright minds like Emma and Madeline who will shape Michigan's educational future.
