The one with the coffee & the Jesus — capturing device 08/02/2023

Hey all! I have been off FB since early July and, actually, still am, but here's a blog. Life is changing in August--I'm trying to figure out how to keep up!

The one with the coffee & the Jesus — capturing device My two-day work week, like posting on Wednesdays, is an ideal, a goal, a good idea. But I don’t actually do it; I just say I do.

13 Holy Nights — capturing device 12/07/2022

Last call for the 13 Holy Nights--we start in 90 minutes.

2022 was more of the same. Where we expected newness, we got repetition--2022, get it? 2023 breaks the pattern.

Join me for a practice to find, claim, and commit to a new vision for the new year. Please click the link below to register.

13 Holy Nights — capturing device At the winter solstice, the enfolding darkness, the crystalline air, and the snow-stilled landscapes speak in metaphors, messages to help us release this year and welcome a new one.

December 1: this better be worth it — capturing device Is it gauche to quote oneself? I suppose it depends on who you believe is the ultimate source and owner of the words. I spent today teaching students that the author doesn’t matter and, at the same time, berating them on their use of proper citation. Yes, the author is not here—we are just “wa...

I'm going on a cold turkey techcation — capturing device 07/14/2022

Since I don’t really know how to use Facebook, I should probably stop using Facebook.

I'm going on a cold turkey techcation — capturing device Google “digital detox”, “phone diet”, or “technology break” and you will get millions of hits (but if you search for techcation, you won’t get anyone using the word the way I am). I have a few different approaches to weaning myself from technology bookmarked but really the only approac...

There is no box — capturing device 07/08/2022

This week's blog asks, "How do you take up space in the world and how do you protect the space that is yours?" With my recent hip replacement, I am reconsidering how the space around me, the space of my website, and the space of my body.

There is no box — capturing device Boundaries create a safe space that I expand and fill and, in doing so, I re-outline the space I take up in the world.

It's July 1--a calendar milestone. A new fiscal year and the start of Q3. Midyear reflection and planning. Just like me, www.capturingdevice.com will be under construction this summer as I rebalance my offerings and evolve from my blog site into a fuller business site as www.pauladiazmfa.com (TBA). July is undeniably summer in Chicago, and summer is the season in which we enrich and grow. So that is what I will be doing on many levels over the next couple of months. Keep an eye out for periodic updates, blog posts, and offers, and look forward to a major announcement in September! Thanks for your support!
