On August 20th cadets from all over the city gathered for a valuable opportunity at Phoenix Military Academy or virtually for a Student Leadership Program. Student leaders from 44 CPS JROTC programs prepared for their upcoming school year. They then briefed City Corps members and received constructive feedback. We can't wait to see all the great ideas come to life!

On this 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember all those who died or risked their lives to save others. We remember the families that were torn apart by the death of a loved one and the survivors. Never forget.

Veterans Day was formerly known as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I. However, today we celebrate this National Holiday to honor the men and women who have served and protected in the United States Armed Services during times of peace and war.
Chicago JROTC City Corps Staff expresses their respect and gratitude to those men and women. All JROTC Programs and Academies in the City of Chicago have the honor and privilege of having Veterans as our Instructors, teaching the cadets leadership and perseverance.
These pictures are from the Commemoration Ceremony hosted by Mayor Lightfoot featuring City Corps Staff. The Wreath Laying Ceremony was held at the Victory Monument at 35th Street and King Drive in the Bronzeville neighborhood.
Today, we all reflect on the heroism of those who have died and protected. Please thank those who have served or are currently serving for this country.
