Every child’s speech journey is unique, and there’s a 𝙬𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 of when sounds typically develop. While some sounds come naturally, others might need a little extra support. (This post is based on a compilation of 15 studies on typical sound development!)🗣️✨⁣

We hear you! You’re eagerly waiting for that magical moment when your little one finally says 𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘢 or 𝘋𝘢𝘥𝘢—but instead, you’re getting babbles, giggles, and maybe even “dog” before your own name! 🐶🤦‍♀️⁣
⁣
So, why the delay? Here’s the scoop: Babies develop sounds in a certain order, and they often start with 𝘮, 𝘣, 𝘯, 𝘸, 𝘥, 𝘱, and 𝘩. Your little one might be practicing other sounds first before getting to “m” or “d.” Totally normal! Keep the encouragement going by making sounds fun and interactive.⁣

✨ 𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽:⁣
