Ms. Muñoz joined the High School Bridge Program this past February and has been working diligently to create a space that fosters collaboration and growth for her new students and families. She supports students at Chavez Multicultural Academic Center in Back of the Yards and St. Genevieve Catholic School in Belmont-Cragin, and she will soon collaborate with Maternity BVM School in Humboldt Park. Additionally, Ms. Muñoz assists high school students enrolled in various schools across the city including Trinity, St. Patrick, Prosser, and Fenwick. Ms. Muñoz finds great purpose in empowering her students and helping them discover their path. During her free time she enjoys attending concerts, dancing, good food, and taking annual trips to Mexico with her family.

Meet Mr. Siler has been part of High School Bridge since August 2024, and currently serves St. Malachy and Holy Family elementary schools. Additionally, Mr Siler supports high school students at Chicago Bulls, Chicago Hope Academy, Christ the King, Intrinsic, Holy Trinity, and TF North. Mr. Siler enjoys spending time with family, friends and Omega Psi Phi fraternity brothers. He is passionate about gardening, music, barbecuing and riding motorcycles in his free time.

High School Bridge 8th grade students and families please join us for High School Signing Day Saturday May 3rd to celebrate the 8th graders transition to high school! The event will be held at Chicago Jesuit Academy from 2pm to 4pm. We will have snacks and raffles for students and families to enjoy. Meet Your HSB Counselor Ms. Madi. She has been part of High School Bridge since July! She serves at Chavez Multicultural Academic Center in Back of the Yards neighborhood! Additionally, Ms. Madi serves high school students at Back of The Yards College Prep, Lincoln Park High School, and Chicago Bulls College Prep. In her free time Ms. Madi enjoys reading, writing, and hanging out with her new puppy Luna.

Meet your High School Bridge Counselor, Mr. Hess! He has been a part of High School Bridge since February 2022, and has had the great joy and privilege of serving students at St. Catherine-St. Lucy school in Oak Park. He also coaches students at high school across the city including Trinity High School, St. Patrick’s High School, Christ the King, and many more. He became a dad last June, and his little guy, Robbie, is a bundle of energy and joy!

Ms. Fessler has been part of High School Bridge since it started in 2018. While she has worked with many of our partner schools, she now works with students at Altus Academy. She also works with HSB students in high schools all across the city. In her free time, Ms. Fessler loves to travel, read and spend time with her dog Booker. She is also expecting her first child next month!

After School Matters is open to Chicago teens ages 14-18 and in high school, you can have the opportunity to earn money while learning new skills, making friends, and staying active. ASM offers many programs across the city including Latin Dance, plumbing, sewing, community organizing, and so much more! The Spring Program will be from February 24 – May 10. Let your HSB Counselor know if you are interested in joining ASM this Spring!

With this cold weather it’s a nice idea to think about the warm summer! You will have the opportunity to try new activities like: swimming, archery, horseback riding, or just enjoying the outdoors. Ask your HSB Counselor about what summer camp you can join this summer!

Ms. Del Toro has been part of High School Bridge since July, 2022. She is the assistant director of the program. She serves students at St. Ann and supports counselors at Chavez, St. Genevieve, Morton, and St. Ann. She also works with 9th and 10th grade alums at high schools all over the city. Ms. Del Toro is an avid movie goer, loves to travel and read and enjoys her free time with friends.

Happy Holidays to our High School Bridge students and families! We hope you all have a fantastic winter break. Most counselors will be out of the office Dec 20-Jan 1, and you can anticipate hearing back from them after that. We can’t wait to catch up with you all in the New Year!
