​Designed specifically for homeschooled learners from Preschool through 3rd Grade, Math Circles Junior moves away from boring drills and worksheets. Instead, we explore big mathematical ideas through interactive games, visual logic puzzles, storytelling, and collaborative building projects.

​Whether your child is just starting to notice patterns or is already obsessed with big numbers, our play-based, multi-age environment honors every learning style and pace.

Here's a first look at our unschooling friends summer notebooks. We took the opportunity to challenge ourselves by exploring math in more geometric, abstract and methodical ways. We can’t end our summer of learning without highlighting the incredible fun we had with our homeschool friends during Downtown Day! 🏙️✨

Thanks to a wonderful partnership with My Block, My Hood, My City, we brought our Friends of Cabrini Families right into the heart of the city for an unforgettable day of hands-on exploration, community, and discovery across Downtown Chicago.

From iconic landmarks to local treasures, our homeschoolers turned the city into their classroom! Here’s a look at everything our homeschool friends explored and learned along the way:

​🏛️ Chicago Architecture Center & 360 Chicago ( / ): Discovered architectural history, sky-high engineering, urban design, and how Chicago was built from the ground up.

​🚤 Wendella Boats, Chicago's First Lady, & Seadog Speedboats ( / / ): Learned about the unique engineering and reversal flow of the Chicago River, marine transportation, and lakefront ecology—with a splash of thrill on the water!

​📚 American Writers Museum (): Explored the lives, words, and legacies of influential historical leaders, activists, and legendary writers who shaped American culture.

​🎡 Navy Pier (): Dived into the physics and history of amusement rides, waterfront entertainment, and public spaces.

​🍦 Taste of Chicago: Got a hands-on (and delicious!) lesson in culinary arts, discovering how local bakers and chefs craft sweet treats and iconic Chicago eats.

​Huge thank you to My Block, My Hood, My City for hosting and organizing this opportunity to create such a rich, memorable experience for our homeschool youth. Learning truly happens everywhere! 🎡🛥️📚

This weekend our little friends completed a zoo animal scavenger hunt at the Lincoln Park Zoo. They used the zoo campus maps as well as the ZooScav app to complete the challenges and earn points as a whole team. Congrats kiddos!
