Behind every empowered girl is a mentor who believed in her.
Our mentors in Uganda are educating girls about menstrual health, boosting their confidence to stay in school.
Join us in supporting their incredible work.

In Uganda, only 53% of girls aged 6-12 are reported to complete the required seven years of primary education, and merely 22.5% of the female Ugandan population as a whole enroll in secondary education. In comparison, women in the U.S. earned a majority of high school diplomas by 1900.
It’s time to break this cycle.

In rural Uganda, this is the harsh reality for many girls.
Let’s ensure periods don’t pause education.

Our Buddy Bracelets program helped connect students in the U.S. with students in Uganda. In July 2023 we:
🏫 Visited 5 schools
🤝 Handed out over 400 friendship bracelets
✉️ Exchanged pen pal letters
⚽️ Gifted soccer balls, netballs and volleyballs
🪂 Taught little ones to play parachute games
Our mission is to provide educational opportunities for students in Uganda and part of that process is spending time with them, listening to their stories and giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
Thank you to all our partners in Uganda who support these connections and make our work possible.

This week our pen pal initiative continues as letters from Uganda are distributed to students in Chicago. Since Uganda's schools have been fully or partially shut down since March 2020, we are fortunate to have both sent and received letters during this time.
Uganda’s schools plan to reopen in January 2022. It is estimated that up to a third of the students will not return. Schools that do reopen will need extraordinary support to meet the needs of their students and comply with government regulations.
If you're grateful that our children are in school learning, please join us to support the students and teachers in Uganda with the essentials they need to learn and teach -- uniforms, books and supplies, school lunches and tuition assistance.

Our letters arrived! Big shout out to our friends for making sure our letters arrived safely. And a huge thank you to the students at Queen of Angels School in Chicago for helping us put smiles on the faces of children across the globe.

Our letters are in Uganda and are waiting to be delivered! They only have to travel 30 more miles, but without a car, that can be difficult. Most of the roads they will travel are unpaved which makes for a bumpy ride. We’re so thankful for our friend making this trip (and our other friend with a car) to bring our well wishes to students in the villages.

Most students in Uganda have been stuck at home without any school instruction for over a year.
Let’s give them something to look forward to! We’re sponsoring a letter writing campaign over the next two weeks to send as many letters to school aged children in Uganda as possible.
Every letter is an opportunity to bring joy and hope to another. If you or your family would like to write a letter, message us for details.
