Dunbar Vocational Career Academy's 1st Annual “Careers In The Park” was held in Dunbar Park. This event highlighted many of the skills and projects students have worked on throughout the year.
Students provided demonstrations and interacted with the community to share their experiences in CTE.

Over 200 Chicago Public School-CTE Students headed to Springfield, Illinois to compete in a variety of Business and IT events at The FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 4th - with many CPS students securing an opportunity to compete further at The FBLA National Conference in Orlando, Florida June 2024. There were over 1500 students in attendance from school districts throughout Illinois - students not only competed but engaged in networking events, workshops and the highly anticipated "dance off" for a little fun!
Please join us in congratulating participating CPS schools and their advisors for their dedication, commitment to academic excellence and passion for student success - Ms. Teriah Abrams (Stephen T Mather High School), Mr. Calvin Clark (Sullivan High School - Chicago, Illinois - 5th year as Advisor), Ms. Abronia Young and Ms. Tiffany Westmoreland (Curie Metropolitan High School), Dr. Grant Tedaldi and Dr. Vashti Taylor (Disney II Magnet School), Ms. Theresa Mathis (South Shore International College Prep HS- 5th year as Advisor) and Mr. Ken Jamison (Whitney M. Young Magnet High Schooley Young High School). Also in attendance for student support were many school chaperones and Troy Harrington-Meinders as a representative for CPS Central Office and a member of FBLA Board of Directors.

Theodore Roosevelt High School alumni thrive in Wilbur Wright College’s Center of Excellence for Engineering & Computer Science!
Some highlights:
Napoleon Cadiente ’23 is guaranteed to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s The Grainger College of Engineering and has been a peer tutor for the program.
Students attended the summer bridge, improving their math and saving time toward degree completion
All of them have guaranteed transfer to top universities such as UIUC’s Grainger College of Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, & University of Illinois Chicago!
