It's October! Fall is here! And election season is upon us. As much as EW is not a political organization, this is a business that values racial justice.
We have a current administration that struggles to condemn white supremacy and wants to squander progress that has been made towards racial and social equity.
Last month, the president proposed that racial sensitivity training is divisive and should be eliminated. That is not okay. He wants to mislead people towards the wrong direction. " Let us say, instead, that Donald Trump has no true power to cancel federal contracts and that this is merely another desperate attempt to gaslight and siphon the energy of the public (which I would argue…yes). His rhetoric of encouraging federal agencies to “report any sightings” while brandishing about an obscure term like critical race theory is a thinly-veiled attempt at confusing and further dividing our country. He posits that critical discourse on race causes division, while failing to take the time to learn how critical race theory and anti-racism training can address the racial unrest currently captivating national conversation. However, the damage is done, and many who are unfamiliar with the framework will latch onto the idea that anti-racism training is the source of destruction and division, rather than the racist ideologies that Trump espouses in attacking this and other necessary work."
Our work to make these spaces more equitable is necessary work. It's too important to allow these attempts to turn into policy and law that prohibits it. If you also believe that this work is too important, honor that belief through your vote

Happy Tuesday! Happy September everyone!
Equity Within is pleased to make our services available to more people and teach others how to use their impact to create substantive change.
EW has a new mission. Not only service business owners but Equity Within also commits to helping people figure out what it would look like for their workplace, institution, or organization to embody equity.
So you don't have to be a business owner or entrepreneur. You can be a teacher, an accountant, and anyone who wants to see a positive cultural shift. My business will work with you to create actionable steps necessary to advocate for those spaces to become equitable.

Updates for August - I will not be taking any more clients this month. If you want to partner with me, I will be available again next month.
I hope those who took steps toward having an equitable business stay committed. Our society becomes better when more businesses and institutions prioritize social and racial equity.
What if all business and institutions made racial and social equity a priority? The wealth gap would be narrowed and communities would have more opportunity to thrive
Equity Within is a service for everyone. It's not just white business owners who need to integrate equity.
Are you a person of color that owns a company that has a majority of white customers? Ask yourself why is that? Are you viewing white dollars as carrying the most value?
If you do not see a solid number of Black and Brown people involved in your business, organization, or institution with their input/feedback, then something needs to change.
Need help in that? Not sure if that's you? Email [email protected]
It's Friday! We're making it through these arduous times. I want to share two examples of embodying equity.
Columbia University started a program last year for formerly incarcerated people to learn how to code. Ben and Jerry's has created employment opportunities for those formerly incarcerated and allocated a portion of their profits to grant more access to education and employment for them as well.
Becoming socially and racially equitable means that you are making pathways for under-resourced communities to have stable income, a sustainable life, and an opportunity to thrive.
Too many people do not have access to that. Let's change that.
Equity Within still has a couple of slots for this month. You have until July 20th to email [email protected] and schedule a session.
Partner with EW and we can implement some practical steps for your business, institution, or organization to embody racial and social equity
In America, we have the highest rate of incarceration. Our country represent only 5% of the global population but cover 20% of the world's prisoners.
And this isn't new information that has been shared recently. Exposing the reality of these systemic problems has been ongoing for decades. But every day more people are coming to terms with America's exploitative history and anti-black infrastructure.
This country does not have adequate healthcare, quality public education, equitable access to jobs with living wages, or any investment in Black communities. That must change.
We, advocates for racial justice and equity, continue to repeat what has been said and demand for what we need because we know that transformation will not take weeks, months, or a couple of years.
We know it may take a lifetime but strongly believe it's possible that we can have sustainable systems. A world where all people can thrive is coming.
It's the end of June and this month we saw numerous businesses, organizations, and institutions make public proclamations that Black people matter.
The sad and unfortunate reality is that some will not commit to any concrete change after this month. For some, this was a simply moment that did not ignite any action to become equitable in a meaningful way.
Business owners, directors, and executive staff, if this was not just a moment for you, how are you going to embody equity through your practices and operations?
I can help you figure out what that looks like for you and your business. Email me at [email protected]
June 15th has arrived! Equity Within has officially launched!
The mission is to help business and entrepreneurs embody racial and social equity. The operations and services of your business being equitable is necessary.
As a businessowner, how can you make sure that you are providing opportunities and service for communities that are often overlooked? How are you partnering with and supporting Black and Brown people with your financial resources?
Do you want to figure out what that looks like for you? If so, send an email to schedule a session: [email protected]
Tomorrow is launch day! Equity Within will be available to work with you!
Our current systems are racist and anti-black. All of our institutions are harming Black communities. The criminal legal system, police, healthcare system, public schools, and the housing system are currently ruining the lives of Black people. These are all systems created and operated by our government and society. Our country is sick, and some have provided the medicine and treatment that should be taken daily and forever. This wicked disease can be managed. This country can be better. We can have new systems that make Black communities safe and have opportunities to thrive. And when that happens, all communities can thrive.
Equity Within is not a consulting firm, not a HR firm. Equity Within will not further emphasize diversity and inclusion. We will focus on racial and social equity that will produce outcomes of diversity and inclusion.
If you are running a business solely on your own, EW can work with you as well. Maybe there's a service, a supplier, a product, or a daily procedure that needs to be modified or removed. Every business can change something and move towards being equitable.
Is that a step you desire to take? Do you want your business to embody equity? Let's work together. Equity Within launches in two days
