Hello all! We would be remiss if we did not mention the runner-up to the recipient of the Rhonda F. Rodgers Band Scholarship Fund. His name is Lord Manchester Ayuk. He is also a graduate of King Preparatory High School in Chicago. He will be attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he will major in Digitial Media Studies. Lord is a percussionist (bass drummer), who will be playing in the Golden Lions Marching Band along side Mehki. The committee decided to award him a stipend as well.
We spoke with his mother Tuesday and she was sooo very appreciative of our efforts to reward students in this way. Going forward, we are certain that he will do well in school and that we only expect GREAT things from him.
Again, many thanks to everyone for your unselfish contributions to the scholarship fund.
We love you Rhonda and promise to continue to keep your legacy and spirit alive! ✨🎶️ 💙🤍

Introducing the recipient of the Rhonda F. Rodgers Band Scholarship Fund, Mr. Mekhi Cobbs! He is a graduate of King Preparatory High School here in Chicago. He will be attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, majoring in Engineering. Also. He will be playing in the band, where he plays the tuba. Congratulations to him as he is off to band camp this week. After meeting with his family today, we know that he is going to do well and make us all proud!
Many thanks for unselfish contributions made towards the scholarship fund! Without you, this would not have been possible. Many thanks to beautiful sisters Oteal, Keesha and Fredricka for their assistance with structural and committee work. And special thanks to good Brother Michael Mack for his contributions throughout to help us get this across the finish line.
Boy, what a wonderful way to keep our beautiful sister Rhonda's legacy and spirit alive. And indeed, Mekhi embodies these traits. Moreover, we know that she is smiling down on us all. 😇😇🖤💛
