The Rhonda F. Rodgers Band Scholarship Fund This Scholarship has been created to honor Rhonda's memory and her love of the arts. In dedicated memory of Rhonda F.

It will be awarded annually to a deserving student who is a motivated and talented instrumental musician majoring in Music or a related field. Rogers, we would like to introduce The Rhonda F Rodgers Band Scholarship Fund. Rhonda had a lifelong love of music and performing arts. She was actively involved in marching and concert band during middle school and high school and she continued her involvement in the band during her tenure at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The scholarship has been created to honor her memory and her love of the arts. The candidate can be either a potential or existing student who has been accepted to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The scholarship monies are intended to be used to pay for expenses outside of their college tuition (i.e., travel, books, toiletries, etc.) in order to help the student with personal expenses. Our hope is that the scholarship inspires and motivates future musicians. In this way we continue to pay tribute, honor and respect to Rhonda's wonderful and beautiful life and that her infectious spirit will continue to live on through future musicians. Hello all! We would be remiss if we did not mention the runner-up to the recipient of the Rhonda F. Rodgers Band Scholarship Fund. His name is Lord Manchester Ayuk. He is also a graduate of King Preparatory High School in Chicago. He will be attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he will major in Digitial Media Studies. Lord is a percussionist (bass drummer), who will be playing in the Golden Lions Marching Band along side Mehki. The committee decided to award him a stipend as well.

We spoke with his mother Tuesday and she was sooo very appreciative of our efforts to reward students in this way. Going forward, we are certain that he will do well in school and that we only expect GREAT things from him.

Again, many thanks to everyone for your unselfish contributions to the scholarship fund.

Introducing the recipient of the Rhonda F. Rodgers Band Scholarship Fund, Mr. Mekhi Cobbs! He is a graduate of King Preparatory High School here in Chicago. He will be attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, majoring in Engineering. Also. He will be playing in the band, where he plays the tuba. Congratulations to him as he is off to band camp this week. After meeting with his family today, we know that he is going to do well and make us all proud!
