Death can be a very difficult topic for children and adults. It is healthy to discuss with children that all emotions are okay and what they can do to honor their loved one.

Children understand and feel a lot more than we think. It is important to have honest conversations about what cancer is.

It is important to teach the kids about body safety and who is allowed to touch their body parts: mom, doctor and themselves. It is also important to name the body parts so there is no confusion. Start talking to them young about this even at 1 or 2 years old.
