We want to support our community as we continue to recover from this week’s severe weather. If you know of community resources available to those in need, please share them in the comments below.

Together, we can help connect our neighbors with the support they need.

Campus Community -

PSC remains without power and will be closed Friday, August 14. We understand the continued closure may be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience. We are also grateful to ComEd and utility crews for their continued work to restore power to the college and surrounding communities. District and area residents who have been negatively impacted by the recent storms remain in our thoughts.

The fall semester begins Monday, August 17, with our 16-week and first 8-week sessions. Welcome tables will be available throughout campus to help students find classrooms, offices and other campus resources. Please remember that PSC also offers flexible start dates throughout the semester, including 14-week, 12-week and second 8-week classes.

For students who need assistance with registration, advising or financial aid, offices will be open until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, August 17–21. Once the college reopens, please call (708) 709-3500 for assistance or visit prairiestate.edu/start.

Despite the challenges caused by this week’s severe weather, we look forward to welcoming our students back and to a great start to the fall semester.

We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Campus Community -

PSC is still without power following Tuesday’s severe weather and will remain closed Thursday, August 13. ComEd is working to restore service to the college and surrounding communities, but an estimated restoration time has not been provided.

We understand that many of our students, employees and neighbors are also dealing with the effects of the storms. Our thoughts are with everyone across our district and surrounding communities who have been impacted.

We also understand that the fall semester begins Monday and know students and employees are preparing for the start of classes. Our priority is making sure the campus is safe and ready to welcome our community back. For students still looking to register for fall classes, once the college reopens, please call (708) 709-3500 for assistance with registration or visit https://prairiestate.edu/apply-and-aid/admissions/default.aspx.

We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
