At SPEED Family Enrichment Program, we believe that every child and every family deserves to feel safe, supported, and loved. 💕
This month, we stand with families to raise awareness about healthy relationships and safe homes. Even for families with infants and toddlers, it’s never too early to build a foundation of love, respect, and emotional safety.
Here are a few gentle ways to promote safety and connection at home:
🌼 Show calm and care — Babies and toddlers learn from what they see and hear. A gentle voice and loving touch help them feel secure.
💬 Use kind words — Talking through feelings teaches children that emotions can be managed safely.
💜 Ask for help when you need it — Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

En el Programa de Enriquecimiento Familiar de SPEED, creemos que cada niño y cada familia merecen sentirse seguros, apoyados y amados. 💕
Este mes, nos unimos a comunidades de todo el país para crear conciencia sobre las relaciones saludables y los hogares seguros. Incluso para las familias con bebés y niños pequeños, nunca es demasiado pronto para construir una base de amor, respeto y seguridad emocional.
Aquí hay algunas maneras sencillas de fomentar la seguridad y la conexión en el hogar:

Looking for a Spooky good time? Check out this list of Spooky Houses in Homewood. Tell us which one is your favorite?

Grab the family, hop in the car, and take a spooky drive through Homewood! A map of participating neighborhoods is included the post so you can check out all the fun decorations and creative displays around town!

Houses will be judged on three categories by the Events Committee: Most Creative Theme, Child Friendly and Scariest! Judging isn't until next week, so for now, enjoy the spooky decor.

🪶 Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day with SPEED Family Enrichment Program 🪶

Today, we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day—a time to honor the traditions, cultures, and contributions of Native and Indigenous communities. 🌎

For families with young children, this is a wonderful opportunity to begin teaching respect, curiosity, and appreciation for all cultures, even from birth! ❤️

Here are a few ways to celebrate with your little one:

🌿 Read Together: Choose board books or picture books by Native authors that share Indigenous stories, languages, and traditions.
🎶 Explore Music: Listen to traditional drumming, songs, or lullabies from Indigenous cultures—babies love rhythm and sound!

Para las familias con niños pequeños, ¡esta es una hermosa oportunidad para comenzar a enseñar respeto, curiosidad y aprecio por todas las culturas, incluso desde el nacimiento! ❤️

🎃 October Playgroup Fun! 🎃

Our families had a blast at October Playgroup! We enjoyed singing, dancing, reading, and learning about pumpkins, exploring new tastes and textures, experimenting with rolling pumpkins down ramps, and so much more. 🍂✨

We even got to enjoy the SPEED ELC playground—what an awesome day! 💛
