Recently, Alison Drake and Wiley Shaw, two of our junior members, earned the opportunity to visit Alabaster Caverns State Park in Freedom, Oklahoma, through their active participation in 4-H programs throughout the year!

During their trip, they explored the caverns and learned about cave formations, geology, and the unique alabaster deposits that make this Oklahoma landmark so special. This hands-on experience gave them the chance to learn more about Oklahoma's natural history while seeing these fascinating geological features up close.

We are proud of Alison and Wiley for their hard work, dedication, and involvement in 4-H throughout the year.

Congratulations, Alison and Wiley, on this well-earned achievement!

Your farm. Your questions. Your choice.

Summer Demo Day is designed so participants can focus on the topics that matter most to them. Explore demonstrations on soils, insects, crop growth, nitrogen application, scouting, and more while learning directly from Extension specialists.

Join us July 27 at the Chickasha Research Station!

Register at: www.OklahomaCrops.com

One of the things I'm most excited about this year's Summer Demo Day is that you're in control.

You'll choose the demonstrations that interest you most. Whether you want to climb into a soil pit, sweep for insects, learn crop growth stages, see nitrogen application methods, or improve your scouting skills, you'll spend the morning focused on topics that fit your operation.

That's what Extension is: practical, hands-on, and relevant.

We'll see you July 27 at the Chickasha Research Station.

Discovering New 4-H Opportunities!

Four Roger Mills County 4-H members recently traveled to Woodward for 4-H West District Discovery Day, where they explored the many opportunities available through 4-H while participating in a variety of hands-on workshops and leadership experiences. During the day, youth had the chance to learn about topics such as Planting 101, Oklahoma Wildlife Notebooks, Salsa Making, Livestock and Horse Projects, Shooting Sports, Livestock Brands, Duds to Dazzle, Leadership Beyond the County Level, and Wildlife CSI.

Discovery Day gave our members a glimpse into the many ways 4-H helps youth develop new skills, explore interests, build confidence, and connect with other 4-H'ers from across the district. We are proud of these four members for stepping outside their comfort zones and taking advantage of this exciting learning opportunity!

🍀 Thank you to everyone who helps make experiences like this possible for our 4-H youth. We can't wait to see how these members use what they learned back home in Roger Mills County!

Our 4‑H group had a fantastic experience at 4‑H Camp June 9–11. With 3 campers and 5 dedicated counselors, we enjoyed a meaningful time of leadership development, teamwork, and hands‑on learning.

Thank you to our counselors for your commitment and to our campers for representing our program so well. We appreciate the continued support from our community that makes opportunities like this possible. 💚🌱
