Residents learn how to use a slit lamp, foreign body removal, preventive care, common imaging modalities among other things. Stepping into the Lead/Chief Resident role is one of many meaningful transitions in a resident’s training—an opportunity to lead, influence culture, advocate for your peers, and shape the learning environment for the next generation of Family Physicians. 2026-2027 Co-Lead/Chief Residents Dr. Kristen Brehm and Dr. Kaysee Mandt are attending the WWAMI conference that marks the beginning of a year where they will grow in ways that go far beyond clinical skill. They will learn to navigate complexity, manage conflict with grace, celebrate their colleagues wins, and carry the quiet responsibilities that make a program thrive.
