Ultrasound Technologist Job Opportunity. Wyoming Medical.
Wyoming Medical Associates is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our growing healthcare team. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations and producing accurate, diagnostic-quality images to support physicians in the evaluation and treatment of patients.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical environment. This position requires strong technical skills, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, vascular, musculoskeletal, and other specialty studies as required.
Perform echocardiographic studies if appropriately trained and credentialed.
Review patient orders and medical history to determine the appropriate imaging protocol.
Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide clear instructions to promote understanding and cooperation.
Properly position patients and equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images while maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and comfort.
Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively, adjusting technical parameters to optimize image quality based on the patient’s condition and examination requirements.
Obtain complete, accurate, and diagnostic-quality images according to established protocols and departmental standards.
Recognize and document relevant anatomical structures and imaging findings within the scope of the technologist’s role.
Communicate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding examination findings, technical concerns, or urgent patient needs.
Ensure all images, measurements, and patient information are accurately labeled, documented, and transmitted to the appropriate imaging system.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable privacy regulations.
Perform quality-control procedures and identify equipment issues that may affect image quality or patient safety.
Complete routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and quality checks and promptly report equipment malfunctions or service needs.
Follow all applicable infection prevention, patient safety, radiation/imaging safety, and workplace safety procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
Maintain required professional credentials, continuing education, and competencies.
Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or an equivalent recognized credential appropriate to the examinations performed.
Additional specialty credentials, such as RVT/RVS or RDCS, are preferred when applicable to the position.
Previous experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and ultrasound imaging principles.
Ability to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while following established protocols and professional standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Compassionate, professional approach to patient care, including the ability to work with patients who may be anxious, uncomfortable, or have limited mobility.
Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and appropriately care for advanced ultrasound equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients and responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Working knowledge of HIPAA, infection prevention, patient safety, and applicable healthcare regulations.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
