Starting in September - A0 Introductory!

Our 7-week A0 courses are designed for beginners in Irish, and each course can be taken independently: Cúrsa 1, 2, 3 or 4. Together, they develop the same communication skills through different themes.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to understand and use common Irish words and phrases, participate in short conversations with support, recognise common pronunciation patterns, and progress to the A1 course with confidence.

In our A0 courses we emphasise building the learner’s confidence and connecting the learning to the activities in the online Irish community.

Gluaiseacht Chearta Sibhialta na Gaeltachta (The Gaeltacht Civil Rights Movement) was founded in Conamara in 1969. Its purpose was to highlight the decline of the Irish language and to campaign for greater rights for Irish speakers in the Gaeltacht.

The movement forced Irish society to reconsider the place of language in public life, and its repercussions are still felt today.
