Welcome to the RFO Monitor, where PCI keeps you up to date on the revolutionary FAR Overhaul. Today, I’m sharing a few RFO Facts from Part 26, which covers Other Socioeconomic Programs.

Did you know that according to RFO FAR 26.202-1(b)(2), Agencies must transition emergency response contracts to local firms after a major disaster or emergency is declared, unless the head of the agency determines on an individual or class basis that is not practicable. However, agencies are not required to terminate or renegotiate existing contracts to make the transition.

Did you know that according to RFO FAR 26.402-1, The government encourages agencies and their contractors to donate excess, apparently wholesome foods to nonprofit organizations helping food-insecure people in the United States.

Welcome to the RFO Monitor, where PCI keeps you up to date on the revolutionary FAR Overhaul. Today, I’m sharing a few RFO Facts from Part 19, which covers Small Business Programs.

Did you know that according to RFO FAR 19.112(a)(2), A contracting officer’s decision to set aside or not set aside an order for small business concerns is an exercise of discretion granted to agencies and not a basis for protest. However, this does not preclude the filing of a protest of such an order if such a protest would otherwise be authorized on a separate basis recognized in accordance with 16.505(a)(10)(i).

Did you know that according to RFO FAR Part 19.302-2(a)., The contracting officer must monitor the prime contractor’s compliance with its subcontracting plan by ensuring that the contractor submits subcontracting reports in the SPR within 45 days after the report ending date.

Welcome to the RFO Monitor, where PCI keeps you up to date on the revolutionary FAR Overhaul. Today, I’m sharing a few RFO Facts from Part 22, which covers Application of Labor Laws to Government Acquisitions.

Did you know that FAR Part 22 was updated to implement E.O. 14398, Addressing DEI Discrimination by Federal Contractors on March 26, 2026. It added subpart 22.22, Addressing DEI Discrimination by Federal Contractors.

Did you know that the RFO Working Group issued an updated on March 16, 2026, to conform with the changes to the codified FAR as outlined in FAR Case 2025-007, Trade Agreements Thresholds, Final Rule. It updated the thresholds throughout: $15,000 to $20,000, $102,280 to $105,767, $150,000 to $200,000, and $550,000 to $700,000.

Did you know that according to FAR 22.902, Agencies must bring complaints regarding a contractor’s compliance with the policy in E.O. 11141 to that contractor’s attention (in writing, if appropriate), stating the policy, indicating that the contractor’s compliance has been questioned, and requesting that the contractor take any appropriate steps that may be necessary to comply.
