The Barbara and Patrick Roche Center for Catholic Education (The Roche Center) strengthens Catholic education through the promotion of research-based educational innovations and the generation of research to lead the transformation of Catholic schools to serve with a preferential option for the poor and marginalized. h, professional development, advocacy, and outreach. Housed within the top-ranked Lynch School of Education at Boston College, the Roche Center brings together a collaborative community of Catholic school leaders, teachers, researchers, scholars, and innovators to sustain and improve K-12 Catholic education. Signature programs include: the Two-Way Immersion Network for Catholic Schools (TWIN-CS), a national dual-language immersion initiative; the Emmaus Series, a leadership advancement program for Catholic school leaders; and Urban Catholic Teacher Corps of Boston College (UCTC), a two-year volunteer and graduate program where licensed teachers serve full-time at an urban Boston Catholic school. Research initiatives focus on our professional programs and targeted collaborative projects with an emphasis on outcomes. Highlighted projects include: the Jesuit High School Project; the National Survey of Catholic Schools Serving Hispanic Families; and The National Survey to Examine Effects of Implementation of the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools.

We are thrilled to announce that, following a comprehensive national search, Katie Ward was appointed as the Program Director of the Two-Way Immersion Network for Catholic Schools (TWIN-CS) at the Roche Center for Catholic Education at Boston College.

Katie joined our team on June 1st, just in time to spearhead the TWIN-CS Summer Academy and to present at and help support the G.R.A.C.E (Global Researchers Advancing Catholic Education) colloquium at Boston College. We're so grateful for her leadership and dedication to the mission of TWIN-CS and the Roche Center!

A privilege to welcome Dr Melodie Wyttenbach Roche Center for Catholic Education of Boston College to the Diocese of Derry schools’ Religious Education Conference as the keynote speaker. Melodie unpacked the vocation of Catholic Educators and Pope Leo’s Apostolic Letter, ‘Drawing New Maps of Hope’ inspiring those present to create Catholic School Communities where every child is recognised as being made in the image and likeness of God and tcommunities which offer hope in a time of great crisis in the world. 🙏

Members of the Roche Center team joined the Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development faculty and staff community for Mass and a community meeting this morning to kick off the new academic year and spring semester.
